“Do you want all four vaccines today?”
This was a big question posed to me by the doctor at my travel consultation on Thursday last week. Being concerned with saving time, I said sure and got a quadruple vaccine cocktail including: Japanese Encephalitis (a vaccine known for its side effects), Typhoid Fever, Rabies, and Hepatitis A.
It turned out to be a rough decision that didn’t really save me time. I was knocked out for two days with a fever and body aches, and I’m still recovering a week later. It didn’t help that the timing placed it at the height of the Swine Flu scare, making everyone especially worried.
I go in next week for some follow-up shots. I hope it won’t be a repeat occurrence.
